- Nada Powers started as our new Activity person on July 5th. She hit the ground running, she has an energized personality.
- In August Aaron Brown gave his notice. He went back to Marine Construction. We will miss his quiet easy ways.
- On August 31st Brian Santangelo replaced Aaron Brown, he comes to us with a varied background in maintenance.
- On September 10th Irma struck and caused a lot of damage to the south of us. Luckily after she hit south she went to the east, sparing us major damage. We did receive water intrusion in each unit due to the wind driven rain, a couple of small trees were damaged and taken down, exit lights on the walkways either blew off or were hanging by wires, all lanai screens were blown out and three fans were ruined quite a few of the bedroom screens flew away and we have those on order. The staff has about half of the lanai screens back in and will continue until complete.
- We were able to open back up on September 29th.

It has been a quiet month. We had a part-time activity director
named Maddie but, she turned in her resignation today, (June
28). She was here for the past month. She is a young mother
and received a better career opportunity elsewhere. We have 2
applicants coming in this Friday. With the 4 th of July week
arriving and 6 more weeks of summer, we expect many families
will appreciate having an activity director. It is our goal to hire
and train the new person in the upcoming week while Maddie
is still here.
We have placed an order for new mattresses and box springs.
They should be delivered by mid- August. The building is due
to be painted sometime in the fall this year. |

glass top. The call for nominations was sent out. The
ice machine top was replaced. A pump for the spa
was replaced. The contractors have been back a few
times to repair a few items, mainly electrical outlets in
the kitchen(s). We are in the process of working with
a new vendor to replace the custom bath doors in the
units. Maintenance continues to paint the vacant unit
bedrooms. (These were not included in the
renovation.)
We have been working on updating all owner information
on file including: phone numbers, e-mails and
address. We have no activity person. Jennifer and
Peggie are providing 2 meals and one snack day per
week. Crafts include the MBH color your own t-shirt
and tote bag. We continue to provide coffee Monday-
Saturday and popcorn upon request at the pool bar.

We ended the year with owners and guests enjoying the newly renovated units. The contractors
continue to correct any discovered items such as electrical or hardware issues that are brought to staff’s
attention.
If a unit is vacant, the maintenance staff is painting the bedroom. This will be an ongoing process as they
become available.
The board president announced that Mariner’s Boathouse is now contracted with Bi-Coastal Marketing
to promote association owned sales and offer owner enhancements, such as the Interval Gold Points
Program.
Activities are being revised to include 2 meals and snacks every week. Jennifer and Peggie will
implement this new schedule after the holidays. We have the activity director position advertised. |
